ADVENT Let Us Prepare PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lisa Chick
Monday, 14 July 2014 10:26

The Book of Isaiah 2:1-5 tells about vision, anticipation, a prophecy, hope and the destiny of nations and peoples in their relationship with God. The creation of community, humanity and earth is the fulfillment of God's kingdom. The fulfillment is expressed in the advent, in the birth and in the mission of Jesus Christ. Jesus teaches us to love one another as a community and as family. Join us each Sunday for Worship as we prepare our hearts for the birth of Christ.

Sunday Worship Services 2016 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lisa Chick
Wednesday, 19 January 2011 23:01

At the First United Methodist Church of Burleson, it is the belief that the first purpose in life is to worship the Creator, God. As Christians to gather as a community of faith and the deepest desire that worship become a meaningful and vital part of each Christians life.

The 8:30 a.m. Relaxed Traditional sanctuary service is not as formal and the Director of Music, David Anavitarte, provides worship music. Service is held in the Worship Center.

The 11:00 am Contemporary Worship is in the Youth Sanctuary and designed to express worship through contemporary Christian music. This worship features the youth band SWAG (Saved With Amazing Grace). The Contemporary service is designed to lift your spirits and provide a community of faith in a more intimate setting. Tommy Kennedy, Director of Youth Ministries, delivers the message in this smaller setting and this service is held in the Youth Sanctuary.

The 11:00 a.m. Traditional sanctuary service is liturgical worship and regularly features the Chancel Choir. This worship is through traditional symbols and acts of worship. This is an opportunity to worship in a more traditional setting you may be more familiar with growing up. The choir takes vacation in the month of July. Worship is held in the Worship Center.

*FIRST SUNDAY of each month in all worship services Holy Communion is provided. United Methodists practice an open table, so all are welcome to participate in the sacrament regardless of age, church membership, or experience.

**Each Sunday (except when serving Holy Communion on first Sunday or religious occasions), time is set aside for children in the Traditional Worship services. Children are invited to come forward at this special time to participate in the story. Childcare is available for children up to the age of 4 and personnel are waiting at the back to escort your child to the nursery or you may bring your child.
